While applying makeup, although everyone wishes to look their best, not all can make it through the effort it requires. The main concern in dealing with applying makeup is the frustration of not having the results you wish to see. And not many things can match up to the hassle of applying eyeliner. Just one poor stroke can ruin your entire look. So, if want that perfect strike, here are a few eyeliner hacks that you can use to get the best possible results:
1. Smudge with shadow
While eyeliner pencils that come with a built-in smudger may feel like the most convenient option, they fail to give you the best effect. You can instead, select a shadow that is closest to the color of your eyeliner. You can either select a shimmery or matte texture. However, it depends on the look you wish to have. Put the shadow on a smudge brush and smoke out the liner for an attractive look.
2. Heat it up
Many times the eyeliner pencil can harden up. While even that can work, using it feels like rubbing sandpaper on your eyelids. This problem can be solved with probably the easiest eyeliner hack – heating the pencil. You don’t have to put the pencil over open flames; use a hair dryer to heat up the pencil to the appropriate temperature. Doing so will soften the tip of the pencil and make it easier to apply. Avoid heating it for too long. Heating the pencil for two or three seconds is sufficient to soften it up.
3. Use mascara as eyeliner
Imagine you have to get ready in a matter of minutes and you don’t have any eyeliner! In such a case, you don’t need to panic; mascara is there to your rescue. It can be used to line your eyes exactly the way you would with a regular eyeliner. You just have to apply the mascara extremely close to your lash line and press it against your skin to create a line.
4. Start on the outside
This eyeliner hack helps you achieve a naturally cohesive line. It is recommended that you start drawing an outline from the outer end of your eyes and work your way in. This makes it easier for you to create the shape that you want as compared to the other way around. The outer end of an outline is the key part of eyeliner application, thus, it is fitting that the outer end should be done first.
5. Use pencil as a guideline for liquid
Many people prefer to use liquid eyeliner but struggle with creating the perfect outline. If that is the case with you, this eyeliner hack can be a sigh of relief. You can draw the way you want your liner to look with an eyeliner pencil before using the liquid. This gives you a guideline to apply the liquid eyeliner. Once you have done this, it is easy to coat the design with a liquid eyeliner.
